Tribal Chamber Choir took part in the Premier National Competition for Mixed Voice Choirs in the 2009 festival.

The choir were awarded 1st prize for their performance of 'Hear My Prayer', Purcell; 'Os Justi', Bruckner; and 'Amhrán na Gaoithe', Sweeney. Judged Best Overall Choir in the Premier National Trophy Competitions, they were named National Choir of the Festival, receiving the Victor Leeson Perpetual Trophy. This title means they shall be representing Ireland in the Fleischmann International Competition in 2010.

Tribal also took 2nd prize in the National Competition for Church Music, singing 'The Cherubic Hymn', Glinka and 'Ride the Chariot', negro spiritual.

Tribal Chamber Choir won 1st prize in the Sacred Music Competition in 2009, singing 'Ride the Chariot', negro spiritual and 'Os Justi', Schubert.

The Galway Boy Singers also came 1st in their Youth Choir category, making it a double celebration for Director, Mark Keane.
